Nine months into her pregnancy with her first child, Jodie Matthews could feel something was desperately wrong.
Tests at hospital confirmed the worst, that her baby’s heart had stopped. The son she was expecting and had named Hamish was stillborn. Matthews, now a mum of two, reflects on her journey of grief, after the loss in 2018.
Six stillbirths occur in Australia every day, with parents experiencing feelings of guilt, shame and isolation, and yet discussing it largely remains a taboo topic.
In this short documentary, the meditation coach talks to Central News about how mindfulness and giving back to the community has helped her deal with Hamish’s death.
