For violinist Evangeline ‘Evie’ Victoria wedding performances are her bread and butter, but the humble instrument has also taken her around the world to perform for the likes of FIFA and Real Madrid.

Born into a musical and theatrical family (her dad is a woodwind and keyboard teacher and her mother was in theatre) she has been playing the violin for over 22 years and says it was considered “uncool” to play it when she was a teenager.

But, she is glad she stuck with it.

“It’s obvious that playing the violin makes me incredibly, incredibly happy,” she said, adding that turning her passion into a job was “wonderful” and she would encourage others who can do the same to go for it.

Evie takes classical violin, sets it to contemporary tracks and laces it with modern vibes to create a soothing yet dynamic feel. In 2024 her career exploded from small private events, when she performed in front of 25,000 football fans at AAMI Park for the Melbourne Victory Football Club with a performance of The White Stripes Seven Nation Army.

The crowd loved it, and the exposure she got from her AAMI Park performance became the catalyst for the business taking off, opening up Europe and the Middle East as destinations for further functions.

Evie says she believes in creating a friendship between her and the couples getting married, adding it’s “really, really special and very hard to achieve”.
