The teals promise to make the upcoming federal election more than a three horse race between Labor, the Coalition and the Greens, upsetting the political balance and reshaping the national conversation, Central News‘ new election podcast The Pub Test hears.
“[The teals] also bring a bit of kindness and a lowering of the temperature, because politics is ugly and politics gets so combative so quickly, and it can get really, really nasty,” Daily Aus political reporter Harry Sekulich tells hosts Roman de Vallance and Sam Lawrence.
“And, the teals, for all their part, have gone a significant way to make the conversation more about a policy debate than a personal character attack.”
The Pub Test podcast is a weekly discussion of the latest election news and polls, breaking down key issues in the vote, and asking if the policies of the parties pass or fail the ‘pub test’.
