Construction on Sydney’s Oxford Street is severely impacting business for local shopkeepers, as redevelopments drag on for a third year.

Major building developments and the addition of a new bike lane were intended to increase pedestrian accessibility, but some projects are now more than a year overdue.

Residents and business owners are fearful the iconic LGBTQI+ strip will not survive the current downturn, following the devastating impacts of lockout laws and pandemic restrictions.
