Palestinian stories are important. The dead, injured and traumatised are not just numbers they are human beings. But the Western media doesn’t treat them like that, dismissing their wholesale slaughter as unimportant alongside Israel’s ‘right to defend itself’.
Now facing an hourly and deadly bombardment at the hands of their longtime occupier Israel, Palestinians have not only faced the struggle of the past two months in which more than 15,000 have died and 1.8 million been displaced from their homes, but for 75 years.
Still, most Western media outlets choose to focus on the past 56 days without providing any context of what Palestinians have had to live with, let alone properly documenting the extreme threat they face today.
