Australians have united in prayer for the victims and survivors of the Christchurch massacres – and in solidarity with New Zealand and its Muslim community.

Among those showing support, were the hundreds who rallied outside the country’s Consulate-General in Sydney.

The culturally and politically diverse crowd heard speeches from Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi; human-rights activist and poet Sara Saleh; human-rights activist Ahmed Aboushabana; self-proclaimed “Muslim Kiwi”, Dalya Ayou; and indigenous activist Nessa Turnbull Roberts – among others.
